About Stacy Pellettieri, LCSW-R

Licensed clinical social worker, trauma specialist, and founder of several leading mental health organizations.

Stacy Pellettieri, LCSW-R, is a New York-based licensed clinical social worker, trauma specialist, and founder of five respected mental health ventures: District Support Services, Long Island Counseling, Right Path Counseling, The ADHD Training Center, and the podcast Why Do People Do That. With more than three decades of experience, Stacy has built a reputation as a trusted expert in trauma, child and adolescent mental health, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, grief, and loss, including specialized work in early childhood trauma and sibling loss.

Throughout her career, Stacy has led extensive clinical teams and complex care initiatives, including overseeing a network of 90 therapists across Long Island. Her work bridges clinical practice, leadership, education, and consultation, allowing her to support not only individuals and families, but also the systems that shape mental health outcomes.

Stacy works closely with school districts to educate educators and administrators on trauma responses and trauma-informed approaches, helping schools better understand how emotional distress can present in children and adolescents. She also developed a school avoidance program in response to the growing epidemic of students struggling to feel safe enough to attend school. Through this work, she helps identify the underlying causes of avoidance and implement practical, compassionate strategies that support successful reintegration.

In addition, Stacy addresses the impact of technology on children’s emotional health, guiding parents and professionals in establishing healthy boundaries and guardrails to reduce risks related to anxiety, depression, and other challenges associated with excessive or unhealthy digital exposure.

Known for her clear, compassionate, and deeply informed approach, Stacy helps families, educators, and professionals navigate today’s mental health challenges with greater understanding, structure, and confidence.
